With a sustainable pumping system, surface water, drainage water or rainwater is collected. Once the contaminated water reaches the system, it is passed through several filters. First, the water goes through a pre-filtration stage that is selected according to the application, such as an automatic screen filter, glass bead filter or cloth filter. Here, coarse dirt is removed, such as sand and a large portion of the suspended solids. The water then flows to the control filter, which protects the membranes in case something went wrong during the pre-filtration. Finally, the water goes to the ultrafiltration membranes, where the water is disinfected because fungi, bacteria and viruses are filtered out of the water.
Ultrafiltration is a technique that is suitable for the treatment of many types of water, such as surface water, river water, rainwater and recirculation water, or as pre-filtration for your reverse osmosis installation. It is a disinfection technique that is insensitive to the light transmittance (T10 value) of the water. Iron or CocoPeat coloration of the water is no longer a limitation for the disinfection capacity.
Ultrafiltration is highly suitable for the disinfection of various water streams. Because fungi (1–30 micron), bacteria (0.2–1 micron) and viruses (0.08–0.12 micron) have a certain size, filtration is possible according to the “gatekeeper” principle. This means that fungi, bacteria and viruses simply cannot pass through our membranes of 0.02 micron. This makes it possible to achieve disinfection with a LOG 6 removal (99.9999%) for bacteria and a LOG 4 removal (99.99%) for viruses.

- PRO 3 – 50 m³/day 1.3 ha / 3 ac
- PRO 6 – 100 m³/day 2.5 ha / 6 ac
- PRO 12 – 200 m³/day 5 ha / 12 ac
- PRO 24 – 400 m³/day 10 ha / 24 ac

Cleaner irrigation system – by filtering particles down to 0.02 micron, the irrigation system becomes significantly cleaner (up to 1,000–4,000× cleaner compared to traditional disinfection methods). This greatly reduces the need for chemical agents (such as hydrogen peroxide) to keep piping clean. Because organic contamination is removed, it can no longer serve as a breeding ground for new or secondary infections.

JB Group currently has around 50 UF systems operating worldwide. As with any technology, it is essential to periodically review system designs and incorporate the latest techniques and experiences. Over the past six months, our team has done exactly that, translating these improvements into our renewed ultrafiltration models. This enables us to condition our membranes even more effectively and guarantee optimal performance over a long period, without the need for large amounts of chemicals. This aligns perfectly with our vision of sustainable water management while ensuring reliable irrigation water.
Our models have been thoroughly tested with both drain water and surface water and have passed with a perfect score.
